Coleman Wine Grapes

Coleman Agriculture leverages six generations of family farming expertise to grow the highest quality Vitis vinifera wine grapes

In 2023 Coleman Agriculture planted 34 acres of Pinot Noir wine grapes north of St. Paul, Oregon, in the Willamette Valley AVA and located at the foothills of the Chehalem Mountains (and just 4 miles east of the renowned Dundee Hills wine region).

We decided to begin our grape-growing journey by cultivating three Pinot Noir clones: the Oregon staple Dijon 115 (on 101-14 rootstock), the spicy and tannic Pommard (on 101-14), and the rare Swiss newcomer Mariafeld (on S04), adding a unique addition to our offerings.

The vineyard sits on rich, well-drained Woodburn soils, perfect for the development of robust vines and healthy fruit. The site is tiled, drip irrigated and is being farmed conventionally. Trellising is a spur-pruned, modified VSP trellis system on 10 ft rows (871 vines per acre).

Flashback to the sunny days of summer 2023
with a vineyard drive-by!

After decades of experience growing high-quality hops for the craft beverage market, our sixth-generation family farm has expanded our crop portfolio to include Pinot Noir grapes.

We are seeking to establish new, long-term relationships with winemakers,
and are open to contracting current and future production.

We anticipate 45-50 tons of Pinot Noir fruit in 2025.

We are committed to working closely with our winemaking partners to produce the perfect grapes for your wine. We believe in close collaboration and communication when it comes to growing decisions. Partners will be empowered to make cultivation recommendations aligned with the objectives of their final products.
