Our Partners

Innovative hop cultivars are what really moves the needle at Indie Hops, and the Coleman family is proud to be growing along with them as they introduced Oregon-grown Strata®, Meridian®, Lórien®, Luminosa® and in 2023, Audacia® hops to the world.

The hops that we grow for Indie are certified Salmon-Safe, it’s vital to us that we protect Pacific Northwest rivers and wildlife. We are proud that our Alluvial and GreenLeaf Hop Farms are certified 100% Salmon Safe.

As one of the original hop farming families in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, the Coleman family is  proud to be a Yakima Chief Hops owner-grower. Rooted in centuries of farming, Yakima Chief firmly believes that quality hops begin in the field and we appreciate their collaborative approach to meeting the needs of the world’s brewers.

In addition to Salmon-Safe , our Yakima Chief Hops varieties (Citra®, Mosaic® and Simcoe®) are farmed to the standards of the Green Chief Program.

Our team is continually focused on aligning our values with those of our partners. We believe that the creation of a great craft brew starts in the field and is fostered through the union of our seasoned hop team, passionate brewers, brilliant scientists, researchers, and our innovative hop suppliers.

Our Hop Farms

Alluvial Hop Farm
Independence, OR

Named for the alluvial plain where the fields are located, the Alluvial Hop Farm was purchased from John I Haas in 2004. Today, this 1,050 contiguous acre farm, hugged by the Willamette River, is recognized as the largest hop farm in Oregon. This farm raises hops from 12 distinct varieties, is home to Indie HopsAdvance Nursery and includes modern harvesting equipment such as a 12-kiln hop house featuring MeasureTek systems. With nearly a 100-year legacy, we look forward to continuing the cultivation of great hops from Alluvial.

Here we grow over 300 acres of hops. Cascade Hops are very well suited to this site, and in four of the past five years Greenleaf has garnered a win in the Hop Quality Group’s Cascade Cup, scoring top honors in 2021 and runner-up in both 2023 and 2019.
